About MyEncourageMaker
This website exists because of one sentence spoken to a discouraged man in Redding, California.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple. Every person eventually stands at a crossroads where quitting seems reasonable. MyEncourageMaker exists to remind you that history is filled with ordinary people who faced impossible odds, refused to give up, and changed the world. Through true stories, timeless wisdom, practical encouragement, and hope-filled reflection, we help you believe that today's obstacle may become tomorrow's testimony.
We don't deal in slogans. Anyone can say "believe in yourself." We'd rather show you the evidence: verified stories of people who stood exactly where you're standing — and kept going.
MyEncourageMaker is built on a conviction: real encouragement has two legs — the evidence of people who didn't quit, and the promises of the God who carried them. Every response here stands on both.
He'd been a professional pilot in the early nineties — commercial, multi-engine, instrument rated — but flying couldn't pay the bills, and life moved on the way it does: years stocking a warehouse, then years as a stockbroker. By the mid-2000s, thirteen years had passed since he'd flown for a living. He still dreamed about it. He also had a list of reasons it was over: too rusty, too long out of the seat, skills gone, chance passed.
One evening, talking with a friend, the friend's wife prayed for him. Then she looked at him and said:
"You're gonna fly again."
That was the whole encounter. But it was enough — enough belief, borrowed from someone else, to act on. The next day he walked into the office of a jet center to ask about flying work. It so happened they were looking for a pilot that day. They hired him on the spot and gave him the training he needed. He flew freight. Then came the organ-donor transplant flights across Northern California — a King Air C90, all hours of the night, all kinds of weather, until 2012 — carrying second chances to strangers, in an airplane he'd been told (by himself) he'd never fly again.
That's what this site is for. You type in what's got you discouraged, and we answer with real encouragement and a true story — a verified one, because at your lowest moment you deserve the truth — of someone who stood where you're standing and didn't quit. Colonel Sanders in his sixties. Dyson at prototype 5,126. A single father sleeping in a train station with his son, studying for his shot.
None of them were finished. Neither are you.
You're one encounter away from walking into your destiny. Maybe this is it.
